This friend was writing a "food" column and asked if I could give some "beginners" tips on how to purchase fish. She then proceeded to inform me that I am an expert on the subject to which I was humbled and extremely flattered. By the way, flattery is wildly underrated and dare I say we all might want to exercise this skill a little more in our everyday life. For example when my wife might want me to do something that she knows is going to put me through a personal hell, she often opens with "Hey, have you lost weight tiger?" Hello and Roar and all I heard was I look skinny and am likened to a awesome jungle cat. At this point she could ask me to take her mother to an off-season Christmas store and shop for Tchotchkes...yes, that would be hell but I also would be prowling...

What the sushi grade fluke are you talking about Funky Fishmonger!? Well for one I just want to introduce the youngbloods out there to one of the greatest rock bands of all time and let them realize that 90% of the greatest songs have all been written in the 60's and 70's. And also I would like to point out that I believe real Satisfaction is just within the reach of a 12 inch skillet and a fresh piece of fish. For instance, a client of mine just expressed to me that he was so stressed out that his blood pressure was off the charts and his teenage son was struggling in his math class. On top of that his family's conversations seemed only to exist in text messages and the occasional "tagging" on social media.

What in the Hake fillet are you talking about Funky Fishmonger? Well I'll tell you, at least 20 times a week someone will ask me, "What is your favorite Fish to eat?" Honestly, I am dumbfounded by this question because one, I'm what they call "thick" so as you can guess I like just about everything that hails from the briny deep and two, there are so many varieties of fresh seafood to choose from, I quite frankly wouldn't dare pick a "favorite."  That said, I must disclose that some of my favorite things to eat are what some folks might call the "Funkier" cuts.
