What the sushi grade fluke are you talking about Funky Fishmonger!? Well for one I just want to introduce the youngbloods out there to one of the greatest rock bands of all time and let them realize that 90% of the greatest songs have all been written in the 60's and 70's. And also I would like to point out that I believe real Satisfaction is just within the reach of a 12 inch skillet and a fresh piece of fish. For instance, a client of mine just expressed to me that he was so stressed out that his blood pressure was off the charts and his teenage son was struggling in his math class. On top of that his family's conversations seemed only to exist in text messages and the occasional "tagging" on social media.

What in the Hake fillet are you talking about Funky Fishmonger? Well I'll tell you, at least 20 times a week someone will ask me, "What is your favorite Fish to eat?" Honestly, I am dumbfounded by this question because one, I'm what they call "thick" so as you can guess I like just about everything that hails from the briny deep and two, there are so many varieties of fresh seafood to choose from, I quite frankly wouldn't dare pick a "favorite."  That said, I must disclose that some of my favorite things to eat are what some folks might call the "Funkier" cuts.

October 23, 2018

Good morning to all of our beloved friends and clients and just as Apple Cider Donuts come around every year so does a study stating that a large portion of the fresh seafood you eat is mislabeled. Grouper, snapper, cod?  Recent investigations and studies have shown mislabeling - sometimes due to error but often the result of outright fraud - is rampant in the seafood industry, showing up both in the marketplace and on restaurant menus.  One study of retailers found seafood like grouper, cod and snapper may be mislabeled up to 87 percent of the time, swapped out for less desirable and cheaper varieties. For example, only seven of the 120 samples of red snapper were actually red snapper." What the Fluke is going on?
